Who gets to read? Who decides which stories are allowed on the shelf? These questions used to sound dramatic. Now they come up at school board meetings every month. This collection is for people who believe a library card is a right (not a privilege handed out by whoever’s loudest), that kids deserve to see themselves in books, and that the folks pulling books off shelves have rarely read them.
